Day 1     Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi, meet and greet at the airport and transfer to hotel for overnight.
 
 
Day 2      In Delhi
Morning at leisure. Afternoon orientation tour of Old Delhi include: drive by Red Fort (closed on Mondays) built of red sandstone dating from the very peak of the Mughal power. Opposite the fort are the black and white onion dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi the Father of the nation was cremated in 1948.
 
 
Day 3     In Delhi
After breakfast, we explore the sites of new Delhi, that includes drive past by Rashtrapati Bhavan (the Presidential Palace) and the Secretariat buildings - the centre of Government activity, down the impressive Rajpath (the main avenue), to the World War I memorial arch, India Gate, the High Court Building and the Old Fort. Visit Humayun’s Tomb built in 1565 AD by his grieving widow Haji Begum, and the Qutub Minar, 72 meters high and the ruins of Quwat-ul-Eslam (Light of Islam) Mosque.
 
 
Day 4     Delhi – Agra Drive
After breakfast depart and drive to Agra, en route visit the impressive mausoleum of Akbar the Great at Sikandra. Arrive Agra and check in at a hotel.
 
 
Day 5     In Agra
After breakfast visit Taj Mahal, (closed to visitors on Fridays.) the most extravagant monument ever built for love. On the death of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan built her this memorial over which 20,000 men labored for 22 years to create a masterpiece in white marble inlaid with semi precious stones; the art is called pietra dura. Agra Fort where Shah Jehan spent the last years of his life, imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb. The most impressive part of the Fort are the Dewan-e-Am, Hall of Public Audience and the Dewan-e-Khas Hall of Private Audience where he received foreign dignitaries.
 
 
Day 6     Agra – Jaipur Drive
After breakfast depart and drive to Jaipur, en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri, an epic poem in red sandstone, it was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and deserted 14 years later due to lack of water. Legend has it that Akbar, who was without a male heir, made a pilgrimage to this spot to visit the saint Sheikh Salim Chisti The saint predicted the birth of a male heir and in gratitude, after his son Jehangir was born, he built Fatehpur Sikri to commemorate the birth. The Diwan-e- Khas, Hall of Private Audiences has a unique interior design. The Diwan-e-Am or Hall of Public Audience is an open courtyard surrounded by cloisters and adjoining it is the Pachisi courtyard arranged like a gigantic game board, where the Emperor played chess using slave girls as pawns. Arrive Jaipur and check in at hotel.
 
 
Day 7     In Jaipur
After breakfast visit Jai Singh’s Observatory built in the 17th century by the founder of Jaipur who, besides being a prince was also soldier, astronomer and builder. This is an architectural feat, drive past the Hawa Mahal an elaborate building encrusted with delicate honeycomb screens and carved balconies from behind which the royal Zanana, could view the world outside, the City Palace now a museum exhibiting fine Rajput and Mughal paintings, rare manuscripts and an armory.
 
 
Day 8     Jaipur – Pushkar Drive
After breakfast visit Amber Fort, Just 7 miles north of Jaipur is Amber with its honey-colored fortress-palace in the Aravalli Hills. Enjoy an elephant ride (subject to operations) along the fortress ramparts. The sombre exterior belies the richness of the royal apartments which open on to striking views of the gorge. Walk into the Sheesh Mahal and admire the amazing interior décor thought of over 200 years ago. The Hall of Victory presents a galaxy of decorative art panels of alabaster with fine inlay work.

Continue to Puskhar, a small desert village at which a camel fair is held each year. The famous Pushkar fair is a great tourist attraction.
 
 
Day 9     In Pushkar
Full day to explore the temples and Pushkar lake. During annual fair, one could be very busy in exploring the interesting animal trading / shows.
 
 
Day 10     Pushkar – Khimsar Drive
Morning depart and drive to Khimsar, arrive and check in at a hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for personal exploration.
 
 
Day 11     Khimsar – Jaisalmer Drive
After breakfast depart and drive to Jaisalmer, Jaisalmer the land of the Bhatti Princess, born of the moon, is by far the oldest and dates back to 1156 AD. The skyline holds kiosks with parapets, balconies and terraces. It is hard to believe that the human hand is capable of executing the intricate stone carvings on these structures - no corner is left unadorned.
 
 
Day 12     In Jaisalmer
This region of Rajasthan is dominated by the great Thar Desert that forms part of the desert belt extending from the Sahara of North Africa, across Arabia and Rajasthan to its furthest extremity in the Great Gobi of Central Asia. Morning explore the fort and the intricately carved houses of rich businessmen including Salim Singh Ki Haveli and Pathwoon Ki Haveli. Afternoon drive to Jain temples and Royal cenotaphs for sunset.
 
 
Day 13     Jaisalmer – Jodhpur Drive
After breakfast depart and drive to Jodhpur, the second city of Rajasthan. Arrive and check in at a hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
 
 
Day 14     Jodhpur – Luni Drive
After breakfast, visit the mighty 15th century fort which towers above the city. Continue drive to Luni in time for lunch. In the afternoon, we enjoy a glimpse of traditional Rajasthani village life.
 
 
Day 15    Luni – Udaipur Drive 240 Km
After breakfast drive to Udaipur, en route visit Ranakpur is the most magnificent Jain temples in India. It is an extensive complex covering 3,600 sq. meters and has 29 halls with 1,444 pillars, each unlike the other, intricately delicate covered with carvings. The main temple is Chaumukha Temple or four-faced temple, dedicated to Adinath, the Revealer of Truth. Continue drive after lunch to Udaipur.
 
 
Day 16    In Udaipur
Set in the Girwa valley amidst the Arravalli hills is the city of Udaipur, considered to be one of the most romantic cities of India. It presents a refreshing image of white marble palaces and placid blue lakes. Visit City Palace perched on a ridge overlooking Lake Pichola . Once the home of the Mewar rulers, today it is a museum. The entire structure comprises of a number of palaces that despite variations in design are integrated in an impressive whole. Sahelion-ki-bari (Garden of the Maids of Honor) the scene of royal parties for centuries. Drive around Fateh Sagar Lake excavated in the late 17th century by Maharaja Jai Singh and past the Kala Mandir (Puppet Museum) and the Cenotaph of Maharana Pratap. And of course last but not least - the Jagdish temple, which is a fine example of Nagari style. Enjoy a leisurely boat ride on Lake Pichola (Subject to operations) - This Lake takes its name from the small village of Picholi on its West Bank. In the lake are several islands.
 
 
Day 17    Udaipur – Bombay Fly
Transfer to airport and fly to Bombay (Mumbai) arrive and transfer to the Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
 
 
Day 18    Departure
Transfer to international airport for onward journey.
