Delhi – Meerut – Agra – Gwalior –   Jhansi – Orcha – Kanpur – Lucknow-Delhi
Main objective of this tour is to explore the mutiny and battlefield sites, besides there are some Historical and heritage monuments included to get the feel of earlier rulers. Begin with Delhi, travel through Meerut (first Mutiny took Place), Agra (the Mughal Highlight), Gwalior (the princely state), Orcha (a medieval township), Kanpur (witnessed 1857 massacre), Lucknow (1857 mutiny, the garrison based at the Residency was besieged by rebel forces).
 
Day 1     Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi International airport, after meet and greet by tour manager, transfer by chartered transport to pre booked hotel. Remainder of the morning at leisure for rest and acclimatization. Pre lunch an introductory talk on the tour and overview of the mutiny by the battlefield group leader. In the afternoon guided tour of New Delhi, the spacious planned city of late British Raj, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in a combination of western and eastern styles.
 
 
Day 2      Delhi – Meerut – Delhi
After breakfast, in north Delhi, we will Visit Battlefield of Badli – ki – Serai, then drive on to Meerut to explore the mutiny sites, Church and cemeteries related to outbreak of mutiny on the 10th May 1857. In the evening return to our hotel in Delhi.

 
 
Day 3     Delhi – Agra Drive
After breakfast drive to Agra, before entering city, we will stop at Sikandra to visit Tomb of Emperor Akbar, and then drive to our hotel in Agra. After lunch we will drive out to Emperor Akbar’s deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri, en-route a brief halt at the site of Sasia. After exploring the Fatehpur Sikri, we will return to our hotel in Agra.
 
 
Day 4     In Agra
This morning at Sunrise, we visit the Taj Mahal (closed on Friday), the world’s most perfect and poetic building, from here we will return to our hotel for breakfast, then leave for exploration of Agra Fort, built by Akbar the Great. Here Shahjahan was imprisoned by his own son, Jahangir, but he could gaze at Taj Mahal from his chamber. We come back to our hotel for lunch and the afternoon is left free for personal exploration.
 
 
Day 5     Agra – Gwalior – Jhansi – Orcha Drive
After breakfast, we drive southwards to Gwalior a princely state, during our brief halt here; we plan to explore awe-inspiring Fort, Palace Museum and Statue of Rani of Jhansi in the Lushkar district of city. After lunch, we move onto Jhansi to visit the Rani’s palace and battle sites. Late afternoon, we drive a short distance to Orcha, (In Madhya Pradesh), a medieval township with beautiful temple complex and Jehangir Mahal Palace, situated on the banks of river Betwa, arrive and check – in at a hotel.

 
 
Day 6     Orcha – Jhansi– Kanpur Drive
After a breakfast Orientation tour of Orcha and return to Jhansi, before moving onto Kanpur, we will explore more historical sites in Jhansi. Later in the morning, we head eastwards for Kanpur, a day long journey passing through fascinating country, with rebel towns on the banks of River Yamuna. This whole region was part of Bundelkhand where the Rani of Jhansi and Tatya Tope held sway for many months. We are scheduled to Arrive Kanpur in the late afternoon and check-in pre- booked hotel for two nights.

 
 
Day 7     In Kanpur
After breakfast, we begin our explorations including All Saints Memorial Church, Satichaura, Ghat, Bibigarh well etc. if time allows we may take a trip to nearby Bithur, on the Ganges, where Nana Sahib’s home was situated.

 
 
Day 8     Kanpur –Lucknow Drive
This morning we head towards Lucknow, the route goes through the small towns and villages whereby Havelock and his troops had to fight their way, against great odds in July and August 1857. We plan to be in Lucknow by afternoon, after checking in formalities and lunch at hotel, we explore the historical sites including Great Immambara, the ruins of Machi Bhawan or Fish house, Kaisarbagh and more.
 
 
Day 9     In Lucknow
After breakfast, we plan to visit Secunderbagh, stubbornly defended by the mutineers. 2,000 of them died here. Pass through Prince of Wales Zoological Gardens and visit state Museum, La Martiniere’s College and other historical sites. Whole afternoon will be spent at 37-acre Residency site, well preserved by the State Government.

 
 
Day 10    Lucknow – Delhi Fly
After breakfast transfer to airport in time to board our Delhi bound flight. We arrive at Delhi airport by 1200 hours and transfer to pre booked hotel for another two nights stay. Remainder of the day is at leisure for personal activity, shopping, sightseeing, nature walk or simply to relax in the hotel.

 
 
Day 11     In Delhi
Today the day will be spent around Old Delhi to explore the mutiny / war related monuments beside the Mughal highlight, the Red Fort. Some of the highlights we visit are Mutiny Monument, Nicholson’s tomb, Kashmiri gate and more. This being the end of tour, we plan a grand farewell dinner at hotel.

 
 
Day 12    Delhi –Departure
After breakfast transfer to International airport in time to board homeward flight.
